MyMedicals Account Deletion

This page explains how to request account deletion for MyMedicals. It mirrors the finalized privacy policy deletion flow and keeps the UI simple for readability.

Account Deletion Overview

What this page is for

This page explains how to request deletion of your MyMedicals account. It is designed as a clean documentation-style page (no navigation bar) so users can easily follow the deletion steps.

Account deletion is permanent and is not reversible once completed.

Two ways to request deletion

  • Inside the app (recommended): Profile → Account → Delete Account
  • Outside the app (web/email): use the delete-account page or email support@mymedicals.life from your registered email address
Recommended method: In-app deletion is the fastest and most direct method if you can still access your account.

In-App Deletion (Recommended)

How to delete inside the app

Open MyMedicals and go to Profile → Account → Delete Account.

After you confirm deletion in the app, the account deletion flow is designed to process immediately from active systems.

This method is recommended because it uses your authenticated session and usually avoids manual back-and-forth verification.

Outside-App Deletion (Web or Email)

Send the request from your registered email address

If you use the outside-app method, send the deletion request from the email address registered to your MyMedicals account. This is a security requirement and helps us verify ownership of the account.

You can send the request directly to support@mymedicals.life or use the deletion resource at https://mymedicals.life/delete-account.

Important: Using your registered email is strongly recommended and is the fastest path for verified deletion handling.

If you do not know or cannot access your registered email

You should still contact support@mymedicals.life and explain the situation, but the process will typically take longer because we will need additional verification before we can act on an account deletion request. Final deletion is only completed after ownership is verified.

We strongly recommend using your registered email whenever possible. If you cannot, include your full name (exactly as used in the app) and as many account details as possible so we can start the verification process.

For account security, deletion is only completed after the required verification steps are satisfied.

Deletion Request Email Template

Standard deletion email template

Use the template below for manual deletion requests. Replace the placeholders and send the email from your registered email address.

Email template

Subject: Account Deletion Request | MyMedicals

Hi MyMedicals Support Team,

I want to permanently delete my MyMedicals account.

Full name (as used in the app): <Your full name>
Registered email (important): <Your registered email>
Phone number (optional): <Your phone number>

Confirmation:
I confirm that I am the account owner and I am requesting permanent deletion of my MyMedicals account and associated data.

Additional note (optional):
<Anything else you want us to know>

Thanks,
<Your full name>

Template guidance

  • Use your full name exactly as provided in the MyMedicals app.
  • Send from your registered email for faster verification.
  • Keep the confirmation sentence in the email so the request is explicit.
  • If needed, include any extra note that helps us identify your account safely.

Verification and Deletion Timing

Timing for outside-app deletion requests

Outside-app deletion requests are handled manually. We may require a verification step (for example, a confirmation email reply) before deletion is completed.

We typically acknowledge verified deletion requests within 48 hours and aim to complete deletion within 5 business days after verification.

Delays are more likely when the request is sent from an email address that is not registered to the account, because additional verification is needed.

Deletion is permanent

Account deletion is intended to be permanent and is not reversible once completed.

What Happens After Deletion

Data removed from active systems

When your account is deleted, MyMedicals deletes or de-identifies personal data associated with that account from active systems, including account/profile data, medication/reminder/adherence data, and user content stored with the account.

After deletion, you should no longer be able to sign in or access the deleted data.

Limited retention after deletion (important)

Limited information may still remain for a limited period in security or operational logs, or where retention is required or permitted for legitimate purposes such as fraud/abuse prevention, security incident investigation, legal compliance, or dispute handling.

Backups and disaster recovery systems may keep encrypted backups/snapshots for a limited rotation period (typically days to a few weeks). These backups are access-restricted and not used for routine operations.

If a backup restore is required for disaster recovery, deletions are re-applied to restored data promptly and, in any event, within 30 days of restoration.

Prescription scanning provider retention (if used)

If you used prescription scanning/extraction features, a third-party provider involved in that processing (OpenAI) may retain limited API content for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes as part of operating the API service.

This provider retention is separate from the MyMedicals account deletion process.
